So Often I Asked Myself…

Why struggle and strive
just to be alive?
Seeing no reason for all of that labour
I failed to see how being a good neighbour
lets you care
and try to share
good moments with those around you.
 
I was a survivor and a moaner
for there was no joy in being a loner
each day was just another to live out
and wonder what is it all about?
Then I felt good to offer a helping hand
to help a faller rise and stand
and for that moment we were not alone.
 
Thank you for being there
letting me see we need to care
if we are to be truly alive
and do better than just duck and dive.
As it worked so well for me
will you try and see
by being a caring friend life is truly worth living.
