The Sweet Side of the Mountain

 The sweet side of a mountain is the valley floor,
 water to hand and so much more.
 When the mountain cracked giving us a cave
 that became the home we all crave.
 With water to bathe in and drink close to hand.
  
 Such a find let us settle down,
 have a partner, a smile and no longer frown.
 Has not life become more worth living
 and sharing troubles let us be more forgiving
 dangerous yes, but still a whole lot more secure.
  
 Look how far we've come from that basic start
 as cave walls let us evolve our art,
 talking over how needs could be met
 means the mountain helped stop our fret.
  
 Me? I say a heartfelt 'thank you' to the mountain.
