A Quiet Blessing

I've been lockdown for so long
Now I find it hard to remember
Where the empty buses goin past
Actually go to.

I have forgotten
What money looks like
Cos everything is 'card only.'

I have forgotten
The pace of the weekdays,
As everyday feels like Sunday.

I can't remember
What it was like to acceptably
Ignore the neighbours,
For now we not only say hello,
We ask after each other,
And wait for an answer.

Fake hugs are a dim memory,
Replaced by audible morning bird song.

Nobody I know has suffered
From more than boredom,
So I have to admit,

In these frightening times,

I somehow feel blessed.
