Regret is “What if…”

Think of life as an itch only you can scratch
or a leaking roof you must patch.
All because there is no one else around
only you can create that million dollar sound
all are waiting, breathless, desperate to hear.
 
If you don't do any of those things
how can you hope to win the gold rings
that show you won the prize you sought
but by choosing to do naught
someone else was made step in and take your place.
 
Go on, scratch that itch
make your pitch
patch that leak
chase the dream you seek
or be forever wondering, 'what if...'
